Gear grinding has traditionally been performed using either single‑tooth‑face or multi‑tooth‑face grinding. While single‑tooth‑face grinding can achieve high machining accuracy, it suffers from low productivity and high costs; in contrast, multi‑tooth‑face grinding offers higher production efficiency, but its machining quality is inferior to that of single‑tooth grinding. When CBN grinding wheels are employed—whether for single‑tooth‑face or multi‑tooth‑face grinding—using electroplated CBN wheels or ceramic‑bonded CBN wheels yields remarkably superior results.
